Obituary

James Anthony Mirabella passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.   Anthony and Dorothy (Bomm) Mirabella made their home in Pottsville, Pennsylvania when they welcomed the birth of their only son, on  September 28, 1952. He became simply known as Jim and shared childhood memories with one sister, Doreen.

He attended high school in Brinkley and graduated with the class of 1972. Jim chose to continue his education at Arkansas State University where he was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity and a member of multiple school musical ensembles, including The Tribe. Music was a passion for Jim, and he enjoyed learning several musical instruments throughout the different bands he played with, most notably the guitar, piano, and organ. Jim is well known in the community for his musical talents and his participation in Spice. From 1972 - 1973 Jim was a member of the Disney Land Band.

Jim married the love of his life, Doris Smith on March 28, 1981. Over the next forty two years they shared in the joys of raising three children in the home. Added blessings came as they welcomed spouses, grandchildren, and  great grandchildren into the family. Alongside his wife Doris, Jim owned and ran a video store and a flower shop in Brinkley, AR. Most importantly, Jim never met a stranger. He was a kindhearted man who was loved and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Jim was most recently employed as Manager of the Cash Savers Grocery Store located in Forrest City. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and attended times of worship at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cabot.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his wife, Doris Mirabella of Palestine, sons, Christopher Mirabella of Camden, Tony Mirabella (Amanda) of Jonesboro, daughter, Amanda Vance (Tracy) of Palestine, eight grandchildren, Olivia Hicks (Michael), Caleb Rawls (Shelby), Alexandria Rawls, Cole Bieber, Mallory Mirabella, Garrett Vance, Dominic Vance, Aidan Vance, John Patrick Vance, seven great grandchildren, Ian, Thomas, and Atticus Hicks, Joseph, Emma, Calvin Rawls, and Franklin Bieber, sister, Doreen Riggins and niece Tracy Riggins of, Knoxville, TN.
