Obituary

Glen Overturf Sr., better known as "Bud," age 83, of Des Arc, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 13th, 2021.  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley (Dollar) Overturf; his three sons, Glen Overturf Jr. and wife Cindy of Biscoe, AR, Dale Overturf and wife Laura of Nashville, TN, Mark Overturf and wife Ginger of Arkadelphia, AR; eleven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one sister, Inas Dixon and a host of family and friends.  Bud was born on May 5, 1937 to Oscar and Syrena Bell Overturf.  He was one of nine children.  He was a member of Biscoe First Assembly of God Church where he previously served as a deacon and on occasion, led the congregation in old gospel hymns.  One of his favorites being, "What a Day That Will Be."  He retired after working thirty years with Wyerhauser in Little Rock, AR. He enjoyed fishing and loved living on the lake, where he and Shirley hosted many fish frys.  He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.  Visitation is 6:00-8:00 Friday January 15, 2021 at Garth Funeral Home.  Funeral services are 10:30 am Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Biscoe First Assembly of God Church in Biscoe, Arkansas with burial in Biscoe, Cemetery.  Pastor Thomas Whittaker officiating.  Pallbearers are Billy Keys, James Albert Kirkland, John Williams, Freddie Overturf, Kent Smith, Cody Overturf, Kolton Overturf, Mathew Needham, and Jacob Moore.
