Gertrude Icyphine Bennett Richardson age 94 of Clarendon, AR. passed away on November 8, 2025. Gertrude was born near Holly Grove, AR., on the Yelvington Place, June 13, 1931, to Albert Bennett and Mamie Gertrude Bond. On June 13, 1947, she was united in marriage to Claudie Carroll Richardson at the Dyer Church of God. She loved to cook, garden, embroidery and study her bible.
She was a member of the Clarendon Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Christian. Gertrude is survived by her daughter Barbara Elaine Simons; two sisters: Tenna Dailey and Beverly (Gene) Gestring, both of Arizona, two grandsons; Patrick Dewayne and Stephan Lane Richardson; grandchildren; Charles Douglas, Blake Dalton, Danielle Leigh, Dakota Lane, Sarah Elizabeth, Savannah Lynn and their spouses, Tiffany Charis Simons (Sean) Hubner of Pa., seven great-great grandchildren, Kameron, Carter, Cooper, Christian, Kinsley, Paitlyn, and Trinity, her daughter-in-law Carolyn Richardson Sims of Florida, her sister-in-law, Vera Richardson Green of Springfield, Mo., and a host of relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parent's Albert and Mamie Bennett, her husband of 52 years, Claudie Carroll Richardson and her son Douglas Carroll Richardson, two grandsons, Anthony Carroll Richardson and Michael Lynn Simons, one granddaughter, Amy Thornborrow Simons, three brothers; Paul Douglas, Albert and Robert Bennett, three sisters; Jewel Jones, Lois Coatney, and Naomi Miller.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Daniel, nurse, Tracy Bennett, her transportation driver Belinda Jackson, Restoration P.T. Patty Walker, CNA Mary Ford and the staff of Crestpark Retirement Inn.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 12th at 2:00 P.M. in Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Richie Malone officiating.
