Obituary

Gerald William Rigdon passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at the age of 62. He was born in Brinkley, on February 2, 1959, to Glenn and Essie Rigdon. Their home was located in Monroe, Arkansas, where Gerald was blessed to share in childhood memories on the family farm with two older siblings.

He received formal education in the nearby community of Clarendon, becoming a 1977 graduate of Clarendon High School.  Gerald chose to continue his education at the Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock. Two years later, he began his career as a Registered Nurse. Gerald worked for the next 15 years in the ER at Children's Hospital before becoming a Travel Nurse. Some of his travels included Florida, and a Indian reservation in New Mexico, where he helped to provide medical care to those in need. Later Gerald would secure a position at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, where he remained until retirement.

In his spare time Gerald enjoyed carving walking sticks. To add a unique touch to his work he braided paracord for the handles. He also enjoyed making paracord bracelets. As a child he attended Monroe Baptist Church.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Reggie McClellan and niece, Rhonda McClellan Evans.

Survivors include his brother, Charles Thomas Rigdon and Pat of Wasilla, Alaska, and sister, Cindy McClellan of Searcy, Arkansas.
