George Edward
Boyster
August 20, 1939 — August 14, 2021
clarendon
George Edward Boyster Jr. was born on the summer day of August 20, 1939. His journey in this life began in the flourishing community of Clarendon, Arkansas. He was one of eight children born to the family of George and Mary Boyster Sr. One of the oldest children, he was also a twin, to a sister named Ann, who passed away in infancy. As a young boy raised on the banks of the White River, surely George and his brothers enjoyed many days of fishing. Perhaps their catch of the day often provided a delicious family supper of fish along with all the trimmings.
George was blessed to begin a wonderful friendship with the love of his life, Ivy Dodson. Together their friendship led to a commitment of marriage and a lifetime of adventure. In a sweet and simple ceremony, they completed their vows on March 19, 1962. For the next 59 years they raised a family and worked to live a quality lifestyle. They were blessed with two children and as time passed, added their spouse, and many grandchildren.
Due to his trade the family lived in several places. Areas they lived in included, Clarksdale, Mississippi and Memphis Tennessee, before returning to their roots in Clarendon. George was a man of many talents and he used those skills in a successful working career. Some of the jobs he had included managing cotton gins and working for Ivers and Pond Piano Company.
Outside of work George enjoyed times relaxing with family and friends and good conversation. He was well known to enjoy fishing, especially on the White River. Some of his happiest days were spent on his boat, with a full bucket of trot lines.
George is preceded in death by his parents George Edward Boyster Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Story, brothers; Carl, Jim & Thomas sisters; Dolly, Dora Ann, and his twin sister Ann.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Ivy Dodson Boyster, Son; George Boyster III and wife Jennifer of Covington, TN, Daughter; Joyce Bristol and husband Ted of Pensacola, Florida, Grandchildren; Randy Turner and wife Melina of Atoka, TN, Garry Turner and wife Carrie of Dewitt, AR, Timmy Turner and wife Jammie of Pensacola, Florida, Bradley Boyster and wife Melissa of Cooper City, Florida, Amanda Colburn of Covington, TN, 9 Great Grandchildren, Brother; Lester Boyster and wife Marion of Dayton, TX.
