Gary Francis Smith of Brinkley passed away on September 4, 2021 at the age of 73. He was born on April 29, 1948 to the family of Hal and Kitty Kenkel Smith Sr.  Gary received education through the public schools, becoming 1966 graduate of Brinkley High School. He chose to continue his studies in Jonesboro, completing two years at ASU. Proud to do his part in service to his country, Gary also served with the United States Marines.

Gary married Connie Mitchell and in time was blessed to become a father, grandfather and great grandfather.  Through the years they shared in the many joys and memories of raising a family. For the last 45 years Gary worked outside the home as a farmer.

In times of worship Gary attended service at the St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Brinkley. In his leisure time he liked to square dance,  enjoyed being a mechanic and was a member of the N.R.A.

Gary was proceded in death by parents Hal and Kitty Smith and one brother Chris Smith.

He is survived by wife; Connie Smith, sons; Mitchell Smith (Jasmine), Paul Smith, Steven Dixon (Victoria) all of Brinkley, daughters; April Leisure (Wayne) of Lawton, Oklahoma and Christina Smith of Brinkley, brothers; Hal Smith Jr. (Phyllis) of Powder Springs, Georgia, Steve Smith, eight grandchildren; Taylor Smith, Carley Standridge, Josh Standridge, Clayton Smith, Madison Smith, Preston Yarbrough, Sayer Yarbrough, allie Dixon, four great grandchildren, Kenlee Smith, Mahrya Smith, Alex Smith and Rylee Williams.
