Frances Ann
Imus
November 15, 1928 — January 2, 2024
Frances Imus, born on November 15, 1928, in the community of Mt. Moriah, Arkansas, wove an unforgettable story of grace, resilience, and love. Her life, vibrant and enduring, has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.
Frances led a life of service, both in her professional and personal capacities. As the Secretary of the First Baptist Church in Brinkley, she served her community with dedication and compassion. She was the kind of person who lent a listening ear, shared words of wisdom, and offered a helping hand. Frances was a beacon of light in her community, a sanctuary for those seeking solace, and an unwavering pillar of support. Even in her retirement and move to Russellville, she continued to radiate the love and kindness she was known for.
Frances was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother. She was the heart of her family, the glue that held everyone together. She showered her loved ones with unconditional love and was a source of strength and guidance for them. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Billy Joe Imus, her son, Dennis Wayne "Denny" Imus, her parents, James and Nancy Purtle, and her great-granddaughter, Anna Claire Jackson.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Steve) Thomas of Russellville, four grandchildren, Detra (Nick) Jackson, Krista (Mark) Malin, Karla (C.J.) Foley, and Jacob (Lacey) Imus, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends. Her spirit lives on in those she loved and those who loved her.
As we say our final goodbyes to Frances, let's remember her not with sorrow, but with joy for having known such a remarkable woman. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church, 215 West Elm Street, Brinkley, Arkansas, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM. Interment will be at Choctaw Cemetery, Brinkley, Arkansas, at 3:00 PM.
