Obituary

Flora Faye Jordan Coffman Smith of Stuttgart passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.

Born February 20, 1947, in Bono, Arkansas, Faye was the daughter of Elvis Lee Jordan and Flora Mae Turner. She graduated from Brinkley High School in 1965 and continued her education at Jonesboro Business College.

After her studies, she worked for an attorney in Brinkley before joining the newly formed Bank of Brinkley. She later worked for nearly two decades, exemplifying her loyalty and dedication, as Office Manager at T&S Sawmill in Clarendon, Arkansas.

In earlier years, Faye was an avid Razorback fan and particularly enjoyed watching Razorback basketball. Her many interests and talents included gardening, cooking, sewing, crocheting, fishing and hunting, and she was an avid reader.

Later in life, Faye loved spending time with her grandsons, who learned many valuable lessons from her and made countless special memories with her. Until her last days, her nearly all grown grandsons cherished their time with Nana Faye. When they were younger, she shared their love of games, coloring books, reading, and she loved to pretend play with them. She'd play whatever role they dreamed up for her and loved every minute of it. One favorite memory they have is riding in her little Pontiac Vibe when she picked them up from preschool and elementary school; the boys called it their little white school bus. They loved not having to go to after-care, even with her firm routine of snack, homework, then play. She enjoyed being outside with them, watching them play, and took great joy in being part of their lives. She never tired of reminiscing about their childhoods and enjoying watching them grow into confident, talented, compassionate young men. She was also so very blessed to have a great-granddaughter.

Faye was an amazing cook who loved preparing meals for her family. She also loved gardening. For most of her life, she kept a large vegetable garden and later enjoyed expanding her love of gardening to growing flowers around her home at Maddox Bay, Arkansas. She even gardened while her family lived in Anchorage, Alaska, delighting in the huge vegetables that grew in the long summer daylight.

Faye was raised in the Baptist faith and walked with God all her days on this earth.

The youngest of three children, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Elvis Brady Jordan; her sister, Lois Helline Wood; and her son, Donald Ray Coffman, Jr. Later in life, she found a kindred spirit in a dear friend, Mrs. Verna Mae Bluhm of Stuttgart, who also preceded Faye in death at the age of 103.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law of Stuttgart, Sylvia Coffman Boyd (Steele); three grandsons, Cameron Boyd of Jonesboro, Elliott Boyd, and Ethan Boyd of the home; and one great-granddaughter, Millie Kay Boyd of Jonesboro. She will also be deeply missed by a very special niece and nephew who always kept in touch and loved her dearly, as well as by extended family and friends.

The family will hold a private memorial service for their precious loved one.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the many wonderful people and care givers who visited with and helped care for Faye over these last two years.
