Evelyn Arden (Griner) Fitts of Brinkley passed away on August 1, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on February 3, 1947, in Stuttgart, to the family of William Donald and Evelyn Arden Griner Sr. As the first born child, she was blessed to share in her memories of childhood along with one brother, William Donald Griner Jr.

Arden graduated in 1965 from the Brinkley Public Schools and chose to continue her education at ASU in Jonesboro. After completing her Bachelor's degree, Arden  accepted the position of Program Coordinator at Brickey's State Prison where she remained until her retirement in 2008.

She had many different hobbies and interests throughout her lifetime. Some of her favorites were collecting cat figurines, cooking, and reading, but most of all, she enjoyed talking to her family and friends.

On August 5, 2024, Arden was laid to rest in a private ceremony at Oaklawn Cemetery in Brinkley. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Evelyn Griner Sr. and her only sibling, William Donald Griner Jr.

She is survived by her sister in law, Linda Griner, nephews Shayne (Regina) Griner and Wayne (Stephanie) Griner
