Eugene Lafayette Mitchell (85) passed away Sunday April 8, 2023. He was born in Stuttgart to the family of Clarence and Alma Mitchell. Eugene became a 1955 graduate of Brinkley of High School. He married Myritha Monroe and blessed through the years to became a  father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Eugene worked outside the home for many years as a farmer and a member of the Tri County Farmers Association, Board of Directors. He was proud to serve his country and community in the National Guard.

As a man of faith, Eugene attended times of worship at the Moro Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Myritha Monroe Mitchell, son, Marcus Mitchell (Debra) of Melbourne, daughters, Alma Floyd (Bobby) of Ulm, and Julia Gentry of Brinkley, seven grandchildren, Daniel Watkins, Robert Floyd, Jacob Floyd, Amber McGown, John Gentry, Miranda Ward, and Danielle Mitchell, ten great grandchildren, Carson, Harper, and Blake Gentry, Bailey and Peyton Watkins, Oliver Floyd, Arianna Richardson, Gentry Ward, K.K. MGown and Gage Mitchell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Alma Howton Mitchell, brothers, Kenneth Mitchell and Melbourn Mitchell, grandchildren, Jeremey Watkins, James Mitchell and Patrick Mitchell.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, at the Salem Cemetery in Moro.
