Eloise Boatman Holmes,102, passed August 18, 2022, 1pm at the Virginia Mason Hospital, Seattle, Washington. Eloise fought a long, tough, firecracker of a battle this year with reoccurring sepsis, repeated nephrostomy tube placements, pneumonia, and covid-19. The Doctors claimed her to be the "Spitfire" of the Hospital.
Eloise was born in Des Arc, Arkansas and graduated from Des Arc High School. Eloise was the loyal wife to James Jefferson Holmes Jr. of Des Arc. Together they owned/operated the Pay and Save Grocery Store in Des Arc. Eloise was the second daughter to Arthur Lee Boatman and Arvallia Seville Boatman of Des Arc. Eloise is the sister of Lorine Boatman Wallace, Barbara Pauline Boatman Roberts, Elmo Boatman and is survived by her sister Nella R. Boatman Pich of Hazen, AR. Eloise had one daughter Sherrye Sue Holmes Coburn. Eloise is survived by her Granddaughter Monti Lyn Coburn of Seattle, WA, Great-granddaughter Micah Faith Petty of Plano, TX, Great-Grandson Ranger Autry Coburn White of Yellowstone Park Montana and Great- Grandson Julian Coburn Mosher of Tacoma, WA. Her Great -great grandchildren are Ethan James Petty and Charleigh Faith Cheever of Plano, TX.
Having been raised on the White River, she loved buttermilk, catfish, and fresh Southern vegetables. She also placed great value on education and was a lifelong supporter of the Democratic Party. Eloise loved dogs, horses, and Dolly Parton. Eloise was a member of the First Baptist Church and a staunch supporter of Women's Rights. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a " bigger than life personality' and anyone who met her will never forget her.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to NAMI.org, National Association of Mental Illness.
