Edward Jay
Stice
May 7, 1956 — January 20, 2021
Brinkley
Edward Jay Stice of Brinkley passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. He was born on May 7, 1956 in Brinkley, to Finas and Lola Stice. As the fourth born to the family, he was blessed to share in childhood memories along with 7 siblings. He received early education at Partee Elementary and later attended Brinkley High School.
On November 24, 1976, Edward married Lorena Farrell. The sweet and tender ceremony was performed by the local Justice of The Peace, Charlie Sands. The couple chose to remain in Brinkley and in time their home was blessed with the birth of son, Eric and daughter, Amanda.
Like most young men growing up in the southern delta, Edward had a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed the thrill of a hunt, just spending the day around a favorite fishing hole and frog gigging was also a favorite. For the last 49 years he also spent many days out doors while working with Stice Logging. However his love of family exceeded all and times spent together leave many memories to cherish through the years. He was known to never meet a stranger and would do anything for anyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Finas Edward and Lola Pauline (Richardson) Stice; sisters, Caroline Weatherly, Bonnie Jackson, Rosetta and Betty.
Survivors include his wife of almost 45 years, Lorena Stice; son, Eric James Stice; daughter, Amanda Stice all of Brinkley; brother, Larry Stice and wife Peggy of Brinkley; sisters, Patricia Climer and husband Hershel of Senatobia, MS., Deborah Waggle and Billy of Brinkley, Beverly Nail and husband Jerry also of Brinkley; two grandchildren, Zachary Lee and Hannah Lee.
There will be a visitation on Monday January 25, from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. at Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley. Cremation will be by Bob Neal and Sons.
