Dwight "Peanut" Hamilton was born on October 23, 1956 in Helena, Arkansas to his parents, Nathaniel "Shorty" and Freada Hamilton.  One of four children, Dwight attended school in Brinkley until his graduation in 1976.

After finishing his studies, Peanut began working for Kennedy Well  Service in Hunter until an accident unfortunately put an end to his working career.

Despite his disability, Peanut led a full life, filled with many interests.  He loved to watch any and all kinds of sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco 49ers.  During lulls in games, he could be found watching westerns, Perry Mason, or catching up with the daily news.  He loved to cook for his family and friends. Classic rock was his favorite genre of music.  He enjoyed gardening, spoiling his chihuahua, Wawa, but above all, Peanut enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow.

Peanut is survived by his mother, Freada Fisher Doepel of Brinkley; son, Colby Hamilton (Katie) of Ward; daughter, Katherine Romero (Andre Moss) of Brinkley; three grandchildren, Rhett Hamilton, Briar Hamilton and Silas Moss; brother, Glenn Hamilton of Brinkley; two sisters, Sherry Thomas (Rob) of Farmington, Missouri and Vicki Roberts (Russell) of Benton; five nieces and two nephews; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel "Shorty" Hamilton; stepfather, Emil Doepel; brother-in-law, Carl Lynn Burrow; and niece, Sonya Chudy.

A public visitation for Dwight Hamilton will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.  The family will have a private family graveside at a later time.
