Brinkley
Doyle DePriest Jr. known to all that knew him as "Junior"; was born on July 5, 1961 to Doyle and Ora Mae DePriest and passed away April, 19th 2025. Junior is proceeded in death by Doyle DePriest Sr. and one brother in law Danny("Angie") Reed.
He leaves behind his mother Ora Mae; brother Ronnie Perry; brother in law Gary McArthur; Sisters Mary "Jeanette" McArthur, Angela "Angie" Reed, and Delana DePriest; Son Donald Simpson (Jordan); Daughters Amanda (Justin) Carlson, Emily DePriest; Grandchildren Gabriel "Gabe" , Ella and Ryan Carlson, Zada Dawson, Leona Berry, Kraeton and Reese Simpson, he also leaves Nieces and nephews and extended family to cherish his memory.
Junior spent the majority of his life in well service/ irrigation. He took it so seriously he eventually opened his own successful business, DePriest Well Repair. The well business worked perfectly for Junior as he primarily worked in the summers and could pursue his passion in the winter.
With his birthday on the day after the Fourth of July, he also enjoyed shooting fireworks in celebration of both. He loved the outdoors, to say he was an enthusiast would be an understatement. From catching slabs of crappie to a mess of squirrels or a deer hunt, however, chasing mallard drakes was his passion, and what he lived for. He also enjoyed frying fish, cooking on the grill, and never missing an opportunity to have a good time with friends.
There will be a memorial for Doyle at the Hunter Convention Center on Friday April 25th at 4:00P.M. Friends and family are invited to come share pictures, memories and good times spent with Junior. The family will be fed at 5:00 compliments of CR Smalls (Palestine). At 6:30 the family request that any friends or hunting buddies join them at Doyle's Landing" on the Bayou for one last send off call led by Cody McArthur. Bring you favorite duck call and let's enjoy together what he loved so much.
