Dorsey B
Alexander Robinson
November 1, 1928 — December 9, 2025
Dorsey B. Alexander Robinson, of Marvell, Arkansas, was called to her Heavenly home on December 9, 2025, at the age of 97. Born to Reverend Frederick Alexander and Ethel Hull Alexander on November 1, 1928, Dorsey spent her life in her beloved hometown, where she was a respected and cherished member of the community.
Dorsey served as the Treasurer at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Marvell, where she was also a proud member of the choir. She headed the Mt. Olive Program Committee, participated in the Baptist Training Union (BTU), and Vacation Bible School. Outside the church, Dorsey found joy in gardening, bible study, and the culinary arts of canning and cooking.
She was a woman of unwavering faith, devoted service, and profound love for her family. Her accomplishments were many, but she was most proud of her family and her service to her church and community. Her life was a testament to the power of faith, the importance of family, and the value of service.
Dorsey was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Frederick Alexander, and her mother, Ethel Hull Alexander; husband, Leon Robinson; son, Leonard Darnell Robinson, and her daughters, Edna Earl Robinson and Estella Mae Robinson. Dorsey's departure from this world also follows those of her siblings; her brothers, Welton and Samuel Alexander, and her sisters, Marvella Humphrey, Naomi Johnson, Arlena Alexander, Dozie Jones, Maude Alexander, and Flossie Bingham.
Dorsey is survived by her daughters, Shirlene Atkinson of St. Louis, Missouri, Carolyn (Wardell) Givens of Bellwood, Illinois, Janet Woods of Forest Park, Illinois, Vanessa (Walter) Towne of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Arnedia Davis of Henrico, Virginia, Pamela (Derrick) Handy of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Angela (James) McCoy of Denison, Texas. She also leaves a legacy in her 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, who will forever be touched by her love, wisdom, and grace.
Dorsey's life was filled with love, laughter, and faith. She was a beacon of light in the lives of many and leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We celebrate her life and feel blessed to have shared in it. We will miss her dearly but take comfort in knowing she is at peace in the arms of the Lord.
