Donna Mae Caldwell Strode passed away on April 16, 2021 at the age 69. She was born in Lee County, Arkansas and began her life's journey, on April 24, 1951. Donna would be one of thirteen children born to the family of Travis and Irene Caldwell
On July 12, 1973 at the age of 22, Donna became the bride of a handsome young soldier by the name of William "Bill" Strode. Donna remained steadfast by Bill's side traveling many places stateside and even overseas to Germany. Upon Bill's discharge they returned to Lee County where they remained.
While stationed at Fort Stewart, in Hinesville, Georgia, they began a new journey with the addition a spunky little five-year-old, Renee, who completed their family and home. Donna was an enthusiastic mom and dedicated homemaker. She made sure Renee was always dressed in her best clean, starched and pressed little dresses. In time Renee began a family of her own and they were given the added joys of grandchildren. Sadly, on March 7, 2020, their family would experience the loss of Bill.
Donna was of the Christian faith and a 30 year member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Moro. She worked outside the home at various jobs. but most recently worked as a substitute teacher for the Brinkley and Palestine School District. Donna enjoyed spending time with her family, singing in Church and doting over her grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by parents, Travis and Irene Caldwell and husband William Strode; brother, Thomas Caldwell; sister, Mary Hamilton and Margaret Wheeler.
She is survived by daughter; Renee Kennedy and David, of Colt, Arkansas, brothers, Ray Caldwell, Gary Caldwell and Kay, of Wheatley, Wayne Caldwell and Trish of Dumas; sisters, Hazel Self of Kentucky, Annie Green and Howard of Nashville, Alma Catlett and Keith, of Marvell, Linda Fisher and Benny of Hackett, Rita Davenport of Moro, Tereasia Davenport of Monroe, and three grandchildren, Veronica Ferebee, Phillip "Bubba" Ferebee Jr. and Kaleb Ferebee.
