Donald Lee Chrestman of Lonoke passed away on April 2, 2023 at the age of 84. He was born on August 13, 1938 to James E. and Ola Pearl Chrestman.  At the time of his birth the family made their home in Dyess, Arkansas where he received formal education through the public schools.  In time he became simply known as Don  and shared in the joys of childhood along with five siblings. .

Don was blessed through out his life but found his greatest joys came from his role as a father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked outside the home and was last employed as a diesel mechanic and the owner and operator of I-40 Truck Stop in Brinkley.

Don was proud to serve his country in both the National Guard and Army Reserves. He remained active in helping his community as a member of the VFW. Don also enjoyed fishing, playing card games and working crossword puzzles.

As a man of faith Don knew the importance of a relationship with his Saviour Jesus Christ. During times of worship, He enjoyed the fellowship at the One Accord Baptist Church in Wheatley.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ola Chrestman, wife, Mary Ellen Chrestman, and sisters, Lucille Taylor and Ola Jean Hagan.

He is survived by four children, Donald "Lee" Chrestman Jr. (Cynthia) of Deland, Florida, Rachel Chrestman of Harrisburg, Arkansas, Dena Gwathney Halbert of Sherwood, Arkansas and Donna Gwathney Moore (Joe) of Cotton Plant, Arkansas, first wife, Patricia Morrison Chrestman, siblings, James Chrestman Jr. (Jeweldene) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Louise Chrestman of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Emma Ford (Phillip) of Beech Bluff, Tennessee, five grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
