Butch Kelly
Jr.
December 22, 1946 — April 19, 2026
Holly Grove
Angus Lee Kelly Jr., affectionately known as Butch, passed away on April 19, 2026 at the age of 79. He was born on December 22, 1946, in Holly Grove, Arkansas. As one of seven children to the family of Angus Lee and Eula Kelly Sr., Butch attended Holly Grove public schools and graduated in 1964.
On February 11, 1983 Butch and Tammy married and made their home in Holly Grove. As a jack of all trades, Butch was a self-made man. He remained self-employed throughout his working career and well known in his community as a man of his word. His handshake was trusted by all
who knew him. After choosing to retire Butch and Tammy enjoyed the times spent with the grandkids and vacationing with family. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting or playing with the family dog, Boston, and was a passionate Red Sox fan.
Butch was also a man of faith. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior on September 18, 2022. He always enjoyed times of worship with his family at the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. As a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many, Butch leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to live on for many generations to come.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Angus Lee Kelly III and Joshua Michael Walker; his parents, Angus and Eula Kelly Sr.; brothers, Lloyd and James Edward Kelly; sisters Cora Lee George, Mary Ann Morris, and Rhoda Jeanette Simmons.
Butch is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Tammy Kelly; his loving daughters Tonja Lyn Kelly (John), Heather Katrina Brown (Jeff), Allison Kaye Kelly; his cherished grandchildren Gauge Walker (Jewell), Grant Walker (Maira), Tucker Brown (Ana Karen), Gabriel McCuin; one great-
grandchild, Kendall; and his dear sister Martha Sue Bretherick. Butch also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
