Brenda Ann Helton was born on May 30, 1954, to James and Annie Helton. The family made their home in West Helena, Arkansas where Brenda shared childhood memories with her older brother, Rickey.
Brenda's journey through life included many milestones. On August 30, 1975, she married the love of her life, Rudy Weaver, where she took great pride as a wife and homemaker. They chose to make their home in West Helena, Arkansas, where they also created wonderful memories while raising their three daughters. Eventually, their family grew to include 9 grandchildren which brought Brenda immense joy.
Brenda graduated from Barton High School in 1972. She chose to continue her education for the next four years at the University of Central Arkansas and Arkansas State University. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a specialty in Special Education, and dedicated 23 years of her life as an educator. She began her teaching career in Barton School District in Barton, Arkansas. Later, her and Rudy moved to Mississippi where she continued her love for teaching special education at Walls Elementary in Walls, MS. Through the years, her gentle spirit and nurturing nature touched the lives of many and made a positive impact on countless students.
Her parents instilled in her a deep love of God and she grew in her faith as a small child into adulthood, with her own family, at Lexa Baptist Church. In her adult years, she played the organ each Sunday at church until moving to Southaven, MS. Rudy and Brenda continued following in their faith and attended Church Road Baptist Church, where she also played the piano for each church service. If not teaching or at church, she enjoyed reading in her quiet time.
On December 17, 2024, Brenda passed away peacefully at her home in Lexa, Arkansas at the age of 70 surrounded by her husband and daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Annie Helton. She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Rudy Weaver, three daughters- Brooke Barnes (Alan), Laura Young (Will), and Sarah Pope (Scott), and her beloved grandchildren, Anslee Barnes, Emory Barnes, Huff Barnes, Kendall Cunningham, Maddox Young, Kendall Lewis (Riley), Kate Young, Henry Pope, and Olivia Pope. She also leaves behind her brother, Rickey Helton (Kay), of West Helena.
