Bobby Wayne Martin was born on October 6, 1930, in Clarendon, Ar., and the sixth child to the family of William Macon and Willie Mills Martin. As a lifelong resident of Clarendon, Bobby was proud of the fact he still slept in same bedroom, he was born in. When he requested a copy of his birth certificate, he discovered his birthday was, October 7, 1930. However, his momma always said he was born on the 6th, so Bobby decided, he would just celebrate his birthday for two days.
Bobby received formal education at Clarendon Public Schools where his nick name was Bobwire. He was a 1949 graduate of Clarendon High School.
On October 12, 1951, Bobby was inducted into the Army. He served during the Korean War and stationed on Geoje Island, located off the Southern Coast of South Korea. After the war, he returned to Clarendon and worked at Baird Mfg. as a warehouse manager. He retired after thirty plus years.
Bobby was an avid reader and enjoyed his flower garden as much as his vegetable garden. He was active in his community as a member of the American Legion and lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarendon.
On Thursday November 10, 2022, Bobby passed away at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Willie Martin, his sisters and brothers, Johnnie Embrey, Mattie Ellis, Margaret Chambers, Benny Martin and Billy Martin. He is also preceded by his nephews, Tommy Martin, Don Martin, James Martin, and John Martin.

He is survived by nieces, Ramona Embrey Koonce of San Antonio, TX, Loretta Martin Green of Nashville, Tennessee, Belinda Ellis West and Jan Martin Hodge both of Clarendon, Arkansas, nephew, Lyle Ellis (Ruby) of Clarendon, Arkansas, several Great and Great-Great Nieces and Nephews
along with a host of extended family and friends.
