Betty Shinnall Carter passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 82. Betty was born on December 10, 1941 to George Washington and Ruth (French) Shinnall. The family made their home in Moro, Arkansas at the time of her birth, but moved to California when Betty was five years old. Betty shared the joys and memories of childhood together with two siblings.
In her career, Betty worked at the Deluxe Factory producing Videos and with a passion for dancing, even had the opportunity to experience working as a Go-Go Dancer. She met her husband Carl "Pops" Carter in her early teens while serving as a waitress at Jolly Rogers Restaurant in California. On February 25, 1968, Betty devoted her time to becoming a wife, home maker and mother. She was blessed with four children and through the years saw the addition of spouses, twelve grandchildren, an amazing forty great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. With a desire to return to her roots, Betty and Carl relocated to Arkansas in 1994.
Betty enjoyed many different hobbies and interests. She cherished horses and became a member of the Hillmar Horse Club in California. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles and was involved with the American Bikers Aiming Towards Education. Betty still loved to dance and square dancing became a popular pastime as well as crafting.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth Shinnall, and brother, Frank Shinnall.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Carter, sons, Johnnie Rollf of Carlisle, Tracy Carter, of Winston, NC., daughters, Jackie Mediros, of California, Carla Cornwill, of Kent, WA., sister, Debbie Shinnall of Ward, AR., twelve grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for Betty on February 3, 2024, at the Salem Cemetery at 11:00A.M.
