Betty Lou (Brewer) Turnage started life's journey on April 25, 1929 in Little Rock, Arkansas; a daughter to John Jack Henry and Lula Mae (Brewer) Kumpe, with special family members Uncle Frank and Aunt Myrtle Brewer having the privilege of raising her. Betty passed away in North Little Rock, Arkansas on Sunday, January 03, 2021 at the age of 91.

Betty was a lifelong resident of North Little Rock and attended church at Park Hill Baptist. She was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School in 1947 and later attended U of A at Monticello obtaining her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She worked as a teacher for Parkhill Baptist Child Development Center. Betty was a former Girl Scout Leader, Rockette, and member of the Malvern Junior League. In her younger years, she raised dogs and quarter horses with her husband of 61 wonderful years, Edward Turnage. Betty was a very talented pianist, extravagant seamstress, and enjoyed crafting making beautiful things. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whom will be missed greatly by all the lives she touched.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband; thirteen brothers and sisters; Aunt and Uncle Brewer.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Angela Simpson of Hazen and Nancy Stanton and husband Jon of Shady Grove; grandson and primary caregiver: Jim Simpson of North Little Rock; very special granddaughter: Shanna Turney of Ft. Smith; and sweet great-grand Julia Simpson of Florida.

Graveside Service will be Tuesday, 10:00 AM, January 12, 2021 at the North Little Rock Veterans Cemetery with Greg Hogan officiating.
