Barbara Sue
Haynes
June 23, 1945 — May 25, 2021
Brinkley
Barbara Sue Haynes was born on June 23, 1945, in Brinkley, Arkansas. She was the second born child and only girl of 3 children to Rudolph and Frances Johnson. She was a 1963 graduate of Brinkley High School and later through a close friend, Jackie Gray, was introduced to the love of her life, Jimmy Frank Haynes, Sr. on July 4, 1963.
Barbara and Jimmy, her cookie man, soon realized a desire for a lifelong commitment and were married on May 9, 1964. In time, their home was blessed with 2 sons, Jimbo and Alan, and over several years gained a total of 12 grand and great grand-children.
Barbara was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where she loved and served God with a full heart. She loved her sons, family, gained great joy from quilting, and served as President for the Scrap Happy Quilting club. She also served as Secretary for The Brinkley Depot and volunteered countless hours along-side others with the Broadmoor Baptist Food Pantry.
If there was ever someone who was in need of prayer or encouragement, you could always count on Barbara. She studied the Lord's word and tried to live her life daily through His teachings. For many years, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and her favorite verse was, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" – Philippians 4:13.
Barbara Sue's sweet spirit touched the heart of many lives and she will be missed dearly. A few things we are sure of, she will continue to quilt away, work her crossword puzzles and we know she is SMILING BIG! She is looking at the face of God! The Alpha, The Omega, The Beginning and The End and now she and her Jimmy are walking along-side Him!
Though our grief is heavy, Barb wants us to turn our sadness into joy. She wants us to lift up His praise and REJOICE…because she is finally home.
