Barbara Ann Fitts, 79, a lifetime resident of Brinkley, departed this world and began her Heavenly journey on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

She was born on February 13, 1943 in Brinkley to Helen Weatherly and the late Charles Weatherly.  She began her education at Brinkley Elementary and continued at Brinkley High School, graduating in 1960. After graduation, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Robert Earl Fitts on August 7, 1960.

Barbara worked as a checker at Kroger for 30 years before retiring.  She then worked at Riviana Rice Mill for 16 years, where she lab tested the cooked rice and worked in the office.

She enjoyed attending church at First Baptist Church of Brinkley, where she was a member.  She loved spending time with her family and adored her six grandchildren.  She attended every school or sporting event that she could.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her husband of almost 62 years, Robert Earl Fitts; her mother, Helen Weatherly; two sons, Harold Fitts (Tammy) of Jonesboro and Ryan Fitts (Kris Ann) of Fort Smith; six beloved grandchildren, Adam Fitts, Jacob Fitts, Natalie Fitts, Matthew Fitts, Aaron Fitts (Anna Kay) and Frances Fitts; two brothers, Ricky Weatherly (Lana) and Phillip Weatherly (Mary), both of Wilmot;  and a sister, Cindy Cossey of Fountain Hill.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Weatherly; and a sister, Judy Bailey.

Services for Barbara Fitts will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Bob Neal & Sons Funeral Home in Brinkley.  A graveside service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Brinkley will follow immediately afterwards.  Reverend Lee Weatherly will officiate.

Pallbearers are Adam Fitts, Matthew Fitts, Aaron Fitts, Jacob Fitts, Bobby Bailey and Jonathan Bailey.
