Arthur B. Thompson, Jr.

Arthur B. Thompson, Jr (Known to all as A.B.) of Marvell, Arkansas was born October 15, 1933 and passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026 in his boyhood home surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughter, Jessie Elizabeth (Beth); son, Arthur B. Thompson, III (Art); daughter in law, Kim; grandson, Henry Arthur Thompson; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A.B. was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur B and Jessie Thompson and his wife of 47 years, Betty.

AB was born in Turkey Scratch, Arkansas into a farming family and lived there all his life, Except for his time he was attending the University of Arkansas. Upon graduation, A.B. returned to run the family farm and general mercantile store business.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Marianna. He had the privilege of serving his community in several leadership positions in the Army National Guard, Marvell Academy School Board, Marvell Rural Water Department, Longtime Woodruff Electric Coop Board and various other organizations.
