Obituary

Anna Marie Hardin Woodell went to be with the lord on April 26, 2022, at Baptist Health Hospital - Springhill in Little Rock. She was born on November 10, 1955, in the town of Commerce, Texas to her father, John H. Hardin, and mother, Marie Mable Gordon Hardin, both which have preceded her in death. Brother in law David N Woodell, adopted mom , Evelena Nolan Woodell, who she cherished greatly as her "2nd Mom", father in law, Lloyd J Woodell, Niece Jenny Johnson, and a host of cousins, and a Family of very close friends who taught at Clarendon High School all of which also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her Husband, of 41 years, James N Woodell, who lovingly called her "Sweeetieee Tweeetieee", his rock. One son, her greatest joy, and the apple of her eye, Clarendon Chief of Police Nolan Woodell. She often said Nolan was the greatest gift of joy and love that a Mother could ask for and was so proud of him. It was often said that he was the best looking male version of herself. One Self-Adopted Step-son, Caleb Betts, she was proud of and loved him with all her heart. A daughter in law, Sara Woodell, who provided many moments of cherished conversations, and she took great care of her in her time of need the last couple of years. One granddaughter, Bethany Woodell, who Anna Marie cherished so much the "Bethany Days", when Bethany and Granny would go out for a day. One grandson, Jordan "JoJo" Woodell, who was always stealing his Granny's phone or iPad to play his games on, often sitting in the room with his Granny as he giggled and yelled at his games showing his Granny the victory replays. One sister, Lisa Hardin-Crosby (Chuck Crosby), who was always there through thick and thin encouraging Anna Marie in both good and bad times. Anna Marie adored her younger sister, their times they had on the phone, and their years growing up together. Several nieces and nephews, Cooper "Coop" Crosby, Jamie Woodell, Tommy Woodell, Jr, Chip Woodell, Christie Woodell, Andrea Woodell, Jay Johnson, Anthony Crosby, and Myah Hatch.

In her journey, Anna Marie, graduated High School from Pine Bluff in 1973. She graduated Henderson State University with a Masters' degree in Education/Counseling. She served many students at West Memphis High School, Hazen High School, and then found her home at Clarendon High School serving as High School Counselor for 32 years. She was a Guidance Counselor, and Educator for over 44 years until retirement in 2021 following her heart surgery. Sadly she was never quite the same, as she missed the students, and faculty family of the Clarendon School District.

She was selected as Person on the Year for Clarendon. She was shocked, but so proud of the honor. Her family will be forever grateful to City of Clarendon for this acknowledgement of her achievements as a person, citizen, and teacher. This was something Anna Marie never expected, and her family simply can't find the words to thank the City for the honor.

Anna Marie was member of the Lions Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the American Legion Woman's' Group.
